L-Threonine


L-threonine was discovered in fibrin hydrolysate by W. C. Roin in 1935, and proved to be the last essential amino acid to be discovered, its chemical name is α-amino-β-hydroxybutyric acid, there are four types of stereo-isomerism, with biological activity only L-type.

Threonine is an essential amino acid, and the physiological efficacy of DL threonine is half of that of L-threonine. When lacking, it is prone to symptoms such as loss of appetite and fatty liver. Sumidine cannot be synthesized in higher animals and must be supplied from outside the body
