Cotton Seed is the seed of the cotton plant, whose mature seeds are brown ovoids weighing about a tenth of a gram. Gossypol is the active component extracted from cotton plant (genus Gossypium),which accounts for about 1.5% of the seeds in weight, and is mostly used as medicine in the form of Gossypol Acetate (cotton seed extract) , with function of permeating cells and acting as an inhibitor for several dehydrogenase enzymes.
