Rosmarinic acid (RosA for short) is an organic substance with the chemical formula C18H16O8, a water-soluble natural phenolic acid compound isolated from rosemary in Labiatae.

Rosemarinic acid is a natural antioxidant with strong antioxidant activity that helps prevent cell damage caused by free radicals, therefore reducing the risk of cancer and atherosclerosis. Rosemarinic acid has strong anti-inflammatory activity, while rosemarinic acid also has antibacterial, antiviral and antitumour activity.
